[ Environmental Assessment ]

We are commissioned at the planning stage of projects to assess the impact of developments upon the landscape both as a resource in itself and the landscape’s visual resource. From this we determine whether the development is going to affect important landscapes at local or national levels and who will be affected by these changes; local people, at home or at work and visitors to important landscapes.

Through detailed analysis on site and within our computer programmes we establish the base line and the scale of the affects and impacts. A series of mitigating measures are proposed to assimilate the proposed development into the existing landscape with the intention to have a resultant benign or negligible affect.

We are guided throughout the process by current HM Government planning legislation and the European Community directives and regulations. To date we have both managed and co-ordinated the production of Environmental Statements and also worked within a team of consultants lead by planning consultants.
